Playhouse Teahouse

During our 15th season, the Playhouse found a permanent home in Jackson Square when the old Centre Theater movie house was purchased and renovated to become a live venue. Prior to this, Playhouse productions were presented at different locations around town, but primarily at the original Oak Ridge High School. In the new space, several rows of the original seats were removed to allow room for a stage and the basement was dug out below for dressing rooms, a green room, and the infamous tunnel to access the rear of the house. The first production in the space we still occupy was Teahouse of the August Moon in 1958.
